Peoria Wedding Photographer~10 Benefits of a Bridal & Groomal Photoshoot

In my profession, I have been to my fair share of weddings, which means—I’ve seen it all. Every bride imagines her wedding day to be flawless, but usually something doesn’t go according to plan. Particularly, what I’ve noticed about weddings is—they tend to run late. Time and time again, I’ve seen rushing brides, late bridesmaids, and missing mother-in-laws. Weddings are simply stressful! But, have no fear! This is where I come in to save the day! When booking weddings, I emphasis the importance of getting Bridals/Groomals done BEFORE the ceremony or before the wedding day. By doing so, it relieves so much unwanted stress and allows the bride and groom to be carefree. Unfortunately there is usually such limited time between the ceremony and reception that often the one-on-one bride and groom shoot is shorten. Ideally, I like to have at least an hour to shoot brides and grooms, but often that is difficult to accommodate when most people only have a single hour between their ceremony and reception. And if things runs late— the time to capture the bride and groom decreases. This proves to be problematic when trying to document the most important day of a person’s life, which why it is important to the MAKE TIME for pictures. The best way to make time is to take them beforehand.  My traditional brides and grooms are often unsure about the idea of bridals/groomals because they think it will take away from their wedding day, but it is becoming a common practice. In fact, many of my clients are so glad they did the photos before the wedding, stating that it made the day less stressful and that it didn’t in the slightest take away from the bride walking down the isle. Bridals/Groomals are a must to do and honestly, it just makes sense!

Let me list some reasons why.

10 benefits of getting Bridals/Groomals done BEFORE the wedding day

(all photos below are from clients who took photos before the wedding or ceremony, and loved it)

1. Relieves Stress

You never know what will happen on your wedding day. You won’t have to worry about unintentional spills on the dress, being behind on schedule, or any other matrimony mishap. You will have peace of mind knowing that you already have beautiful pictures.

2. Dream location!

Your fiancé and you can find the perfect place for pictures—a place where you’ve always imagined. Want desert scene? Sedona red rock? Aquarium? We can capture your fairytale anywhere!

3. Best lighting!

What most brides and grooms forget about is LIGHTING. Lighting is so important to capturing amazing photos. We can find the best lighting possible. Since wedding days are full and rushed, you don’t always get to choose the best time to take photos as far as lighting goes. Doing bridals beforehand gives us the option to choose the best time of day for the pretties lighting out there!

4. Test hair and makeup!

Bridals/Groomals are a prefect time to test out your wedding style and look!

5. Get to know ME!

I love to shoot before the big day so we get to know each other better. I can learn your best angles, what makes you laugh, and you get a feel for my shooting style. We’ll all feel more comfortable on your wedding day.

6. No Rush!

On a private bridal/groomal shoot we can take our time. You’ll get at least a two-hour shoot with me beforehand when most wedding shoots only last 30-60 minutes.

7. More pictures!

You’ll have MORE pictures to choose from. The most important pictures of any wedding are the bride and groom. A second shoot ensures you’ll have a wide variety and many more photos! Who wouldn’t want more photos?!

8. Find privacy.

Smooch away! Plus, while it’s exciting to have dozens of people who want to congratulate you, a pre-day shoot lets us focus on YOU and one of the happiest moments you’ll even experience.

9. Enjoy a fun date!

Many brides and grooms have a blast together, and it’s a special bonding time before sealing the deal.

10. Display them!

Share your bridals and groomals on your wedding day. Getting photos beforehand lets you display your gorgeous pictures at your reception.

With all the benefits of a Bridal/Groomal photo shoot, why not do it? It is the only guaranteed way to have  beautiful wedding photos without the stress.

If pictures are a priority for you, then I’m the girl for you!

Have a happy Wednesday!
