Location is Key.

Many people ask me “how do you know what location to use?” Choosing a location differs from client to client. Usually I start with asking my client if they have any specific location in mind for their photo shoot. Most of the time, they do have a certain vibe they are feeling whether that is rustic, greenery, mountains, desert, architecture, or water. Once I get an idea of what they have in mind, I ask them to send me a photo of the clothing they have picked out for them or their family. Once I see the clothing, I have a better idea visualizing what backdrop would be best suited for it. I then narrow it down to a few locations and send photos I have taken in these locations. They then can have a better idea of how their photos will turn out and I help them pick their favorite. It is quite the process in choosing and visualizing, but location is KEY in making sure I capture their vision.

The Wash

The wash is one of my FAVORITE locations to shoot. First off, it is conveniently close for me and many of my clients. It changes throughout the year, giving it a diverse look and feel. I shoot in it all year round and it always surprises me with it varying tones, colors, and textures. Sometimes it is super green and sometimes it more brown and orange in fall. It just gives me variety when we all know the Valley lacks diversity in the seasons. Below are various shoots that have taken place at the Wash.
