It’s here! It’s here! It’s here!
October of course! I am so excited for the cooler weather and well, Halloween of course. It is time for me to pop out my zombie babies, decapitated clown heads, and ominous ghosts. Yeah, I know…I am a little morbid. So if you happened to be scared of things like that, I wouldn’t recommend coming to my house around this time of year.
Not only do I get to pop out my Halloween décor, but it’s also time for the fall clothes to come out. Okay, we don’t really get a typical “fall” in Arizona, but we can put on a beanie and scarf and at least pretend.
As a photographer, this time of year is my favorite for photo shoots. I love the autumn colors and the fall fashion. I am no fashionista myself. In fact, I dress the worst out of my sisters (go ahead and ask them). Although I don’t really know how to dress myself, I certainly know which clothing looks best in a photograph. Which is why I want to give you five fall fashion tips!
5 Fall Fashion Photography Tips:
- Layers! Layers are a photographer’s bestfriend. They add beautiful texture to photos. I am talking about scarfs, beanies, cardigans, vests, hats, tights, jackets, socks, and jewelry. I am giving you full permission to accessorize.
- Mix and match colors! It’s fall, live a little. Don’t wear all the same colors.
- No tennis shoes. Tennis shoes have a time and a place. A fall photo shoot is not the time or the place. Put on your boots and dress shoes and rock ‘em!
- Wear limited white. Sometimes the color white is very tricky to shoot and can be unflattering no matter who the person is. Try darkening it up with some autumn greens, browns, and reds.
- Avoid large logos. Logos can be quite distracting in a photo, and I want people looking at your beautiful faces not reading you large logo from Aéropostale (Don’t worry, I once went through an Aéropostale phase too).
Here are some examples!
And voilà! Follow these fall fashion tips, and you’ll be stylin’ in your photos. I guarantee it.
